“Double Dish” – a technical term for a special category of “meaty movies with saucy soundtracks,” coined by a group under the influence of vegan food and bevs at a frequented local spot. “Trainspotting” is a double dish. In social/competitive situations, or when just showing off, mention of a new double dish gets 3 points. For the more obvious ones (ex: anything by Quentin Tarantino, titled “Donnie Darko” or “Requiem for a Dream”) 2 points are allowed because lets face it, we can all be more creative then that. Favorite 3 pointers include “The Thomas Crown Affair” (Nina Simone), “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” (Stereophonics, Mazzy The Shins) and, just for the kids, “Empire Records” (Dire Straits, Flying Lizards, The The). Obviously, points are not kept track of and have no real meaning.

Check them out and let it marinate.

I'd like to point out that this is the second solid use of the word marinate I recognized today.
