Camera Obscura Challenges Belle and Sebastian To Scottish Twee Deathmatch

Not really, not at all. But while we're all Belle and Sebastian whores, one should stop Peanuts dancing and playing "find the cobra" with the chambermaids to enjoy the even lighter pop fare of Scottish peers Camera Obscura, now touring in a hoody near you.

Please to enjoy these live sets from KEXP to help us decide who should be the rightful popweight champion:

Belle and Sebastian - Live on KEXP
Camera Obscura - Live on KEXP

Belle and Sebastian - Step Into My Office Baby

Camera Obscura - Eighties Fan

Beirut Live on KEXP

Beirut completists...skip straight to the KEXP set.

Beirut first-timers, file to the left and sample your new favorite songs to listen to whilst pouring glass of wine number three. This is the handy work of 21-year-old Beirut brains Zach Condon, the first Balkan-inspired multi-instrumentalist to hail from Sante Fe, since. These songs (and more) are available on the Lon Gisland EP.

Beirut - Elephant Gun
Beirut - Scenic World
Beirut - My Family's Role in the World Revolution

Ratatat Live on KEXP

Dropping a free live set by Ratatat on us is just how KEXP do, man. Not a big deal. But if your first instinct is to release years of file-sharing guilt by hitting up their donation station to drop cheese for a worthy cause, do it. Just imagine the respect the hipster chick at Starbucks will now give you while sporting a KEXP messenger bag. You might get a single full eyebrow raise.
