1. Al Green - I Want To Hold Your Hand - from the 40th anniversary re-release of 1969's Green Is Blues. I pop this off every Sunday morning.
2. Peter Gordon & The Love of Life Orchestra - Beginning of the Heartbreak - Among everything in their crates, LCD Soundsystem chose THIS track to kick off their disco roots-themed FabricLive mix in 2007. They also re-recorded and re-issued it on DFA earlier this year. Now that's how you let the beat build.
3. Delorean - Deli - from their Ayrton Senna EP (not the new album). kind of an odd choice given everything else on this mix is a bit more chill BPM-wise, but it kills, so.
4. Jacques Dutronc - Le Responsable - a French take on British garage/freakbeat. nobody knows about this bro but he's a pimp. here's the mp3.
5. The Outcasts - Loving You, Sometimes - According to Garage Hangover, The Outcasts paid for their own studio time to record "Loving You" in 1969, got some local airplay in Kentucky, scored an opening slot for Neil Diamond, and split. an all-time favorite.
6. Twin Sister - I Want A House (outro) - just a chill lil' outro.
Although various heady jams that would appear on In Rainbows trickled out several years prior, including "Arpeggi" and "House of Cards" in 2005, the first taste came with Thom Yorke's breathtaking solo acoustic encore "Big Ideas" on the last night of their 2003 tour supporting Hail to the Thief. Of course this stripped-down version later became "Nude" - and the fact that Radiohead can sit on songs this good for that long makes you wonder what's in the vault.

Butter team sat down with LCD Soundsystem drummer Pat Mahoney today to get the scoop. Listen to a really quick snippet of the interview here or see a few quotes below:
On the secret to breaking the hipster's double helix of crossed arms:
"I think it's disco. You gotta trick 'em into it though. You can't come right out of the gate with the deep stuff or they get shy." (Pat's recommended warm-on-contact lubricants include Arthur Russell and ESG)
On making mixtapes:
“We find doing mix CDs horrifying to a certain degree because there’s nobody there, so it’s just like, ‘What are we doing?!’ It’s like you’re just yelling into the air. We bought an old Bozak for this – the first DJ mixer ever built, hand-built [off Craig's List]. It sounds incredible. Everything sounds nicer and bigger and smoother and beautiful. The mix itself will have a little bit of stuff that isn’t necessarily what we’d play in a club. But we’d like it to be fun. So we’ll just do it a bunch of times live. Do it until you like it, that’s actually our motto.”

We highly recommend grabbing it before your friends do and copping all the beats for your own super smooth late night. Maybe rename the playlist "a few crate digs from last week" and don't look back.
